Raquel Lacerda at ICMBIO in Brazil (part of The National Center for Bird Conservation, or CEMAVE) and C.J Ralph from the U.S. Forest Service are seeking a few smaller contributions of $2,000 to $5,000 to ensure attendance of critical participants in the Western Hemisphere Bird Banding Network workshops and training sessions during the International Ornithological Conference in Brazil during late 2010. |

New radar research factsheet |

USGS has just released a new factsheet called "Management and research applications of long-range surveillance data for birds, bats, and flying insects". A similar sheet for short-range radar (mobile or marine radars, etc.) is in the works. The report can be accessed here or from the USGS Radar Website. |

Over the next few years, Southeast Partners in Flight will be partnering with the Institute for Bird Populations to improve the value of MAPS stations throughout the southeast. The initial focus will be on automated data analysis/reporting and targeting effort toward management questions. |
