Focusing on challenges associated with alternative energy development, urbanization, and altered fire regimes, the 2012 Southeast Partners in Flight Meeting "Conserving Birds in a Changing Environment" was held Feb. 7-9 in Raleigh, NC.

Before this years meeting, we asked for nominations of people within Southeast Partners in Flight who best symbolized the power of partnerships. While we original planned on giving awards to just a few folks, there were so many different people nominated, that there was simply no way to only choose a few! So, we put together a slideshow of all the people nominated with one or two sentences from their nomination.

The 2010 Southeast Partners in Flight meeting was held at the UF Hilton Conference Center in Gainesville, FL from March 9 - 11. Powerpoints for oral presentations are now available by clicking on the "view abstracts" tab of the meeting site. Minutes from the steering committee meeting are available here. The 20th anniversary slideshow is available here. Thanks again to the City of Gainesville for offsetting the carbon footprint of this meeting.

During the monitoring session on Tuesday, March 24 from 1-5 pm we will be breaking into coordinated monitoring working groups. Each working group will focus on a specific habitat, issue, or species group with the goal of either coordinating current programs or designing new coordinated monitoring programs to address ongoing conservation challenges. |
