“The Northeast Bird Monitoring Handbook: Ten Steps to Successful Bird Conservation through Improved Monitoring” has recently been published. It provides practical advice and ideas for increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of bird monitoring.
While the geographic focus of the handbook is the Northeastern US, we purposefully considered the broader bird monitoring community during its development. Variants of this handbook targeting other geographic areas may be produced in the future and we welcome discussions and collaborations to make that happen. An electronic version is attached with the hope that you, your students, or your colleagues will find it helpful when developing a bird monitoring program. Hardcopies are available for free on request. The handbook can also be downloaded here: http://www.nebirdmonitor.org/handbook |
