A partnership between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Southeast Partners in Flight has produced a new data analysis tool for time of detection data. The tool is being tested by refuge biologists in the midwestern US with an anticipated national release in 2009. The tool: 1) Imports data from the USGS Bird Point Count Database , 2) Allows users to select species and assign sites to groups, 3) Runs multiple competing models in program MARK , and 4) Provides model averaged estimates of abundance for each species at each group of sites.
